Hip Hop Culture Summer Part Two

Monobrother

Kultursommer Wien at Wilhelmsdorfer Park, Austria 20260731

There are a ton of (free) cultural offers in Vienna. Especially in summer, when there are open air cinemas and concerts. And the local Hip Hop scene is lively, with protagonists like Duzz Down San partying at Stadtraum Mitte 15 or soon at Reindorfgassenfest, Rap am Bogen or VSDG who played two weeks ago. This Friday evening, Kultursommer hosts a top name from the home of honigdachs.

Right in the middle of Meidling trainstation and Gleis//Garten close to Matzleinsdorfer Platz in 12th district, the Wilhelmsdorferpark is situated. After the English comedy theater „Dirty Old Women“ by Jenny Simanowitz and Kathy Tanner, Monobrother takes over the stage as trio with another MC and DJ B.Visible . Lately, he appeared at Ottensheim Open Air alongside Glut, Ozymandias, Franz Fuexe and others.

Tonight, he focuses on his fourth album „Mir geht’s um die Menschen“. After a warm welcome by Ana Ryue, who moderated e.g. ‚6 Jahre WNMR‘ and an intro, Monobrother introduces himself with Eminem’s „My Name Is“, like he will cite DMX at the end of the set. Between, he let his fans standing next to the seats scream „Zicke Zacke“ and references the Stuwerviertel like Der Nino aus Wien

With Rebecca from Rolltreppe, he visits a ‚Tatort‘, and with „Bros“ the ‚Hitze der Nacht‘. More highlights are „Ehe“, „The Bill Please!“ and the famous feature with Kreiml „Wiener“. Monobrother himself leaves nothing to be desired. The only pity is, that in center of the surrounding houses, it is not possible to put up the volume as it should be for a Rap concert like this.

But the Kultursommer still has more gems like this wonderful Friday evening Hip Hop event on the schedule. So Ana Ryue can announce the next one already the day after at Nordwestbahnhof with Antifamilia, who collaborated with Kid Pex
