With A Little Nostalgia

„I Just Want To Be A Sound“ Europe ‘25 presented by Roadtrip To Outta Space, FKP Scorpio at Arena Wien – Große Halle, Austria 20251023

It is another one of those weeks, when basically every single day would offer a concert, as names like Naxatras, All Them Witches, Testament, Fiesta Forever, Count Catfish, Of Kings And Villains, JLP and The Hives honor the city. And so it is a busy time for Roadtrip To Outta Space as well, presenting a special tour package this Thursday at Arena

While Rainbow Girls rock the small hall, at the big hall a whole lotta Fuzz is on its way. It all starts with O.R.B, the ‚organic band from Oz‘, hailing from Melbourne, Australia. Their psychedelic, jazzy and bluesy sound brings in the right vibes immediately, with a lot of changes and songs like „Mind Over Matter“, reminding of the mighty Emerson, Lake & Palmer.

For some, the actual highlight comes as second already: Slomosa from the beautiful town of Bergen in Norway (which just was scenery of another Arte short documentary) toured with likes of Stöner before. Their brutally heavy sound echoes to the back and up the ceiling, beginning the the opening trio „Cabin Fever“, „Rice“ and „In My Mind’s Desert“.

‚Skål‘, they greet their fans and play a song for Palestine with QOTSA impact. At the end, the guitarists get down to the fence, before they make place for Kadavar. The Berlin Stoner outfit appeared e.g. with Blues Pills, at Southside, poolbar and several times at Arena.

Tonight, they return with their seventh album „I Just Want To Be A Sound“, the turned out more trendy but still psychedelic, like The Dandy Warhols meet Pink Floyd. They also take it back to their self-titled debut and share influences like MGMT and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard

„Last Living Dinosaur“, „Die Baby Die“ and „Regeneration“ build the middle part of the set. Until the final classic „Come Back Life“ and „All Our Thoughts“, Kadavar keep the earth at Arena shaking.
