Sound@V –ORF Vorarlberg Musikpreis Verleihung presented by Marke Vorarlberg, Wann & Wo und poolbar Festival, Montforthaus Feldkirch, Austria 20200829

What is the Heimo Erbse Preis for Salzburg and the Amadeus for Austria, now is the Sound@V for Vorarlberg. An international jury and online votings decided about the best acts in four regular categories, two special ones and a lifetime achievement award.

The show was set to be at the open air place of the poolbar Festival, but due to the weather, the location was changed to the Montforthaus. Seven artists also perform live, starting with outstanding Prinz Grizzley & His Beargaroos (former Golden Reef), who went on tour with Seasick Steve, just released his second record and now receives the award for best “Rock/Pop”. Other nominations were e.g. The Weight and Peter The Human Boy.

George Nussbaumer, linksabbiegA and more were nominated in “World Music”, which La Risa takes home, who could be seen e.g. at the Spaces 2.0, while Magdalena Grabher sings two songs. The Sound@V was designed at the poolbar Generator, as Herwig Bauer tells. Nnella even wins two categories: “Alternative/Singer-Songwriter” and “Darling of the public” with the most votes. She performs as well as also nominated Philipp Lingg Band (ex-hmbc), who wrote the “summer hit” with “Egalien” and gets the prize in the special category “Mundart”.

Two more nominated formations play live: Stereo Ida and DuoLia. They shared the stage with the winners of the “Newcomer” award Junipa Gold already. The other nominations were Nele and H.E.D.Y. At some point, it is mentioned, that Vorarlberg should be a country of chances for the youth. Looking at what is going on with the Graf Hugo, it doesn’t exactly seem to be like that.

Finally the lifetime achievement award goes to Reinhold Bilgeri, who wrote history with Michael Köhlmeier and visited Armin Weber’s theatermobil, who is under the guests as well. Three songs he performs at the end of the show, including the unofficial hymn “Oho Vorarlberg”.
